Flashback: Renderosity Magazine

Renderosity had a printed magazine at one time that was IMHO pretty awesome. In 2002, I wrote a two-part article "Sound Design for Animation", published in Issues 4 and 5.

In the articles I discussed giving your characters musical themes, some tips for recording voice actors, and software recommendations. I also talked about what I like to call "The Vacuum Principle" of designing a soundworld for an animation, and different types of sound design such as Foley and special effects. I also revealed some tips and tricks with text-to-speech software, recording software, and audio hardware.

Sadly the magazine is no longer available (and to my knowledge neither are back issues), however I'm rewriting the content and including it with the Sound Design Made Easy content into an all-new, updated ebook. I'll announce details when it happens.
